Information For Stallholders

Hall Layout

The hall is laid out as shown below.

Pitches are arranged around the outside of the room and in an island in the centre. The pitches in the centre all have sufficient space for the stallholder to sit behind their stall.

Pitch and Table Sizes

Pitches are available in 4ft, 6ft, 9ft and 12ft lengths. If any other length is required please contact the organiser.

Tables are supplied free of charge and are normally the length of the pitch. If required, the table may be shorter than the pitch to give some floor space

Most of the tables are 2ft wide however there are some at 1ft 9in wide. These are only used at busy events.

Pitch Positions

The organiser determines pitch positions before each event. If you have special requirements, e.g. wall space, please note this on your application form and ensure that you discuss it with the organiser.

To change pitch positions on the day can lead to some difficulties.

Electricity

Electrical points are freely available round the walls and a cable is run into the centre.

Show Times

The show opens to visitors at 10am and closes at 4pm. Stallholders are discouraged from closing down their stalls early as this has insurance implications.

Setup Time

Stallholders may set up from 8.30am. If you arrive before this time you may have to wait until the tables have been set up.

Parking and Access

The hall is set in a large parking area which can accommodate large numbers of stallholders and visitors.

Access to the hall is all on the level and there are full disabled access and toilet facilities.

Insurance

All stallholders are required to have third party public and product liability insurance. Joining the National Market Traders Federation (www.nmtf.co.uk/ and 01226 749021) provides the necessary insurance as a benefit of joining. A lower cost alternative is the Combined Market Traders Insurance Association (www.cmtia.co.uk/ and 0208 554 5273). An even lower cost alternative is subscribing to 'a-n' (www.a-n.co.uk/join_in and 0191 241 8000) which provides insurance as part of membership.

Goods on Sale

The general rule is that the majority of goods on sale must have been made by the stallholder. There are small exceptions to this and if you wish to sell at the fairs please contact the organiser to discuss your products.

As far as possible the organiser will try to ensure that there is not an excessive amount of duplication.

Applications

Please download the application form towards the top of the column on the left. This is available either as a Word document or a PDF file. Please fill in the form and return it to the address given on the form along with a cheque for your deposit or payment.

If you have any doubts about the availability of stalls, the goods you are selling or need fruther specific information please contact the organiser before sending in the form.
